All voice parts are welcome to audition.
Although you are not required to have had formal voice lessons, all members are expected to be able to sing on pitch, in accurate rhythm, and to have good sight-singing ability.
You should have had previous choral experience in a large or small group with performances of some of the major classical choral works.
The audition consists of singing a prepared piece (please bring music for the accompanist), a pitch matching exercise, sight-singing your part in a four-part piece, and some reading in foreign languages (French, German, Italian, Latin, your choice of two languages). Also, relax! All of us have gone through what you will be going through. Attending one of of our Summer Sings is a good way to brush up on your sightreading and choral singing!
