Chamber Singers
The New York Choral Society Chamber Singers (NYCSCS) will perform during the 2008-2009 season, led by Michael Ciavaglia, NYCS Assistant Conductor. At present, the choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings two to four times per month.
The NYCSCS contributes to fulfilling the mission of the New York Choral Society by increasing its presence as a performing arts organization in the city. The choir will perform works outside of the symphonic repertoire for which the NYCS is renowned, providing additional, expanded musical opportunities to its members. The NYCSCS seeks to increase organizational commitment and loyalty across the membership of the NYCS.
In the NYCS' fifty year history, a chamber-sized choir has existed from time to time, and we are proud to revive the tradition in this anniversary year.
