Dear Fellow Singer/Friend,

The 50th Anniversary of the New York Choral Society is fast approaching. You were part of that history. Remember those Tuesday nights which were dutifully reserved for rehearsals? No one wanted to miss them. Aside from the wonderful musical experience we were having, there were the friendships that took shape in the chorus.

I know that some of you were singing with us very recently, under the baton of Jack Goodwin, and for some of you who were members quite a number of years ago, Bob DeCormier was on the podium. To bring you up to date, the choral society has been extremely active on the choral scene, touring and appearing in major concert halls and cathedrals in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, China, France and Italy. Our guest appearances have given us the opportunity to work with celebrated conductors and performers, including Peter, Paul and Mary, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli and stars of the Metropolitan Opera, as the chorus for the Richard Tucker Foundation Gala, the Opera Orchestra of New York and the American Ballet Theatre. We were even nominated for a Grammy. Our Mini Maestros educational program reaches out to the community by involving New York City public school children and, of course, we continue to produce our own subscription concerts at Carnegie Hall.

As we prepare for our special anniversary year in 2008–2009, we are reaching out to you, to invite you to join our NYCS family as a charter member of the newly formed Alumni Association. Joining will help you renew those "old" friendships and you will receive announcements and invitations to concerts and upcoming events, as well as some privileges enjoyed by current members. (You'll hear much more about benefits at a later date.)

Membership requires no dues or fees—just your interest and desire to keep in touch, which you can do by completing this form. Please feel free to call me at 212-247-3878 if you prefer.

I look forward to personally welcoming you.

Sincerely yours,

Judith Rubin
